Then the first hour passes.
Then the second.
By the third, you are shifting toward the window.
A few minutes later, you are leaning toward the aisle.
You cross your legs. Uncross them. Sit forward. Lean back. Fold your jacket underneath you and hope it helps.
But every position seems to become uncomfortable after a while.
You look at the flight map.
There are still six hours left.
And suddenly, the trip you were excited about feels very far away.
